til August 29, his 72nd birthday, to announce his selection. The announcement will be made in Ohio, and will help to take the attention away from Senator Obama who will just be finishing the Democratic convention, as well as his acceptance speech in front on 70,000 supporters. The announcement should also prove to take attention away from the fact that John McCain turns 72!
With the announcement's close at hand we here at leftleaningrightminded have decided to make our guesses,
and see who is named as the "VP Genius" of 2008. Not only did we pick who we believe will be selected, we also picked who we believed would give each candidate the best shot at being elected. Some of us made conventional and safe guesses, like Mitt Romney, Evan Bayh, and Tim Pawlenty. Other's of us took a leap and picked candidates like Rob Portman and Eric Cantor. We are pretty much decided that Obama will choose between Bayh and Biden, however there is no consensus with the Republican pick. The next couple of weeks are sure to be exciting, two conventions and two VP selections, could prove to be a turning point in the campaign.
