A Real Role Model
There are many people in my life that I consider role models. People that I look up to, respect, and aspire to be like. I have two amazing parents who I look up to, and who I consider role models. The problem with so many of our youth today is that they don’t have great role models, and the ones they do have aren’t worth emulating. Children today look up to Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and numerous other pop culture icons. My hope is that whether it be in school, in our family, within the local community, church, or wherever, that my children find appropriate role model’s who are worth being imitated. There are many people out there who have qualities that are worth emulation and adoration. However on the flipside of that there are also numerous individuals who are not worthy of being adored and serving as role model’s.
How would you like Bill O’Reilly giving your children advice about life? Bill O’Reilly has published a book entitled “The O’Reilly Factor for Kids”. Bill O’Reilly has shown again and again on his show his lack of tolerance, lack of patience, and lack of understanding for anyone who thinks differently than he does. Any parent who believes that Bill O’Reilly is an appropriate role model for their kid obviously doesn’t know the real Bill O’Reilly. Here is a link if you want to see what a real role model looks like: http://www.teamhoyt.com/. To all my numerous role model’s out there, thank you for the part you have played in my life, to Bill O’Reilly, give me a break.
