Dancing with the Tea Party
Let's face this head on. Bristol Palin is not the best dancer on Dancing With The Stars. An argument could be made that she's the worst dancer on the show this year. A lot of people are upset about the travisty of Brandy heading home a step away from the finals and an obviously less talented person sticking around. It's a Tea Party conspiracy according to many people I've spoken to. It could be. I have no way of knowing who's voting, but I do know who's not voting. Most of the same folks who are complaining about the outcome of DWTS admit they don't vote. The crazy and the committed are the ones picking up the phones and voting.
This is the 17th ammendment...direct election of our senators. It's the reason we get people like Joe Miller, Christine McDonnell and Sharon Angle running for office even though they don't represent the views of the majority of the population. The problem is they do represent the views of the majority of the folks who drag themselves to the polls or to their telephones in the case of DWTS.
The problem isn't the Tea Party. The problem is that vast silent majority of voters who can't find the time or desire to get to the polls and vote. Our silent majority needs to step up and speak out or be content with complaining as our nation (and TV shows) are overtaken by those who are simply more vocal. The choice is ours to make. Now. who are you going to vote for next week on Dancing with the Stars?
