CNN's "Election Center" anchored by Campbell Brown, McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds discussed why
Palin was a good choice for VP. He made misleading comments, stepped on his words, and for the most part just looked foolish. Campbell Brown was not asking difficult questions, but she was asking questions that the country deserves to have answered. Tucker claimed that Sarah
Palin had more experience in an executive position than
Obama had in the Senate. If you count
Palin's time as mayor of
Wasilla, Alaska, a town of less than 7,000 people, than maybe this claim is true. But in all honesty Sarah
Palin has twenty months as Governor, and
Barack Obama has almost four years in the United States Senate. Tucker also claimed that Governor
Palin is responsible for decisions in deploying and
equipping the Alaska National Guard. Once again a very misleading statement. Any federal deployment comes from much higher than Sarah
Palin, she does however have control over calling them up for state wide duty such as for a flood.
I think everyone who watches this video will agree that Tucker Bounds looks like a fool, and McCain's campaign should do some further work on how to explain the choice of Palin to the country.
