A History Filled Night

On a cloudless August night Senator Barack Obama made a speech in front of close to 90,000 supporters making history. He spoke in front on a unified Democratic party, and gave hope for the future as well as plans for change. He openly criticized the Republican Party, the Bush administration, and John McCain. He criticized them for their policies that are out of touch with the majority of hard working Americans, for their ill advised war in Iraq, and their inability to finish the fight in Afghanistan. Obama also chastised McCain for his attacks questioning Obama's patriotism and character. The most important message of the night though came when Senator Obama declared that this excitement, this campaign, was not about him, it was about all of us. This campaign was about the change that we all have yearned for and deserve. It was a night that will go down in history, and a speech that will be remembered for generations to come. Barack Obama spoke to the heart of the American people, and set the tone for the next couple of months, and hopefully the next eight years.
